CARL BROESEN STUDIO

ABOUT

Meet Carl Broesen, a maker driven by purpose. His work is about more than form or function, it’s about designing objects that make life better, and building pieces that last and can be passed down to future generations.

Based in Melbourne, Carl works across furniture, lighting, and objects with a deep focus on material exploration and sustainable craftsmanship. His practice is guided by the belief that design is both poetic and practical, a tool with the responsibility to shape a more considered future. Every piece begins with process: time in the workshop, hands on materials, refining and resolving through experimentation.

While completing a Bachelor of Design in Product Design, Carl immersed himself in the industry, working alongside leading Australian designers including Adam Goodrum and Patryk Koca. From architectural model making to furniture prototyping and product development, each experience sharpened his attention to detail, material integrity, and longevity.

Now part of the design and production development team at Tait, Carl works across the full journey of a product, from initial concept to final execution. Alongside this role, he continues to build his independent practice, reimagining waste streams and pushing material boundaries to create thoughtful, functional objects with enduring presence.

At the intersection of craft, sustainability, and progressive design thinking, Carl Broesen’s work reflects a simple but powerful intention: to make better things, for a better world.
