Aki is the creative force behind Pocket Picked It, a Melbourne-based studio designing objects that bring warmth, character and individuality into the home.
Blending advanced digital fabrication with hands-on creativity, Aki works at the edge of what contemporary making can achieve. Smart machines meet human intuition, allowing him to experiment with shape, texture and material in ways traditional production cannot. The result is a collection of tactile, expressive pieces, from functional planters to character-filled lamps, each made to order with care and intention.
At the heart of the studio is Pocket, Aki’s cat. Her calm presence and instinct for slow living shape the rhythm of the practice. Observing her gentle pace became a reminder to design differently: with patience, with clarity, and with appreciation for the everyday.
