An Idea Becomes Light is an open design call from Home of Lights inviting people to submit original concepts for a light, from sketches and collages to written ideas and rendered forms. One submission will be selected and transformed into a real piece, developed and released through Home of Lights.
How to Enter:
Submit:
- A sketch, collage, render or written concept
- A name for your light
- A short explanation of the idea
- A personal hallmark, symbol or signature connected to the piece
Your idea can be:
- hand drawn
- photographed from a notebook
- digitally rendered
- written as a concept
- partially formed or fully developed
No technical drawings or manufacturing knowledge required.
The Winner Receives
- Their concept developed into a real lighting object with Home of Lights
- Feature across Home of Lights marketing, social media, PR and launch campaign
- $5,000 AUD design fee (IP right to the light)
- 2% royalty on net sales of the final product for 12 months from product launch date
- Professional content/storytelling documenting the journey from idea → object
