The competition commences on 21 October 2026 and closes at 11:59pm AEDT on 15 November 2026.
Entries received outside this period will not be eligible.
The competition is open to Australian residents aged 18 years and over.
Employees, directors and immediate family members of HOME OF LIGHTS AUSTRALIA PTY LTD are not eligible to enter.
No purchase is necessary to participate.

Each eligible participant may submit a maxmium of two entries only.
The friend tagged must be a genuine Instagram account. Participants must not tag fake, automated or impersonated accounts.
Entries must be submitted during the competition period. Comments submitted after the closing date will not be considered.
Entry is free, although standard internet or mobile data charges may apply.
One winner will receive:
One "In Need of a Hug" light by Schwa Studios, valued at $700 RRP AUD.
The prize includes standard delivery to one Australian residential address.
The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with an item of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond its reasonable control, subject to applicable law.
This promotion is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner.
All eligible entries will be assessed by representatives of Home of Lights.
The winner will be selected based on the most creative response to the question "Why do you need a hug?", taking into consideration:
Creativity: How imaginative, entertaining or thoughtful the response is.
Originality: How unique and distinctive the response is.
Relevance: How effectively the response relates to the competition theme.
The entry that best satisfies these criteria will be selected as the winner.
If two or more entries are judged equally, the judges will reassess those entries against the same criteria to determine a single winner. No random selection will be used.
The judges' decision is final, subject to applicable law.
The winner will be selected within five business days of the competition closing.
The winner will be contacted via Instagram direct message from the official Home of Lights account, @homeoflightsau.
The winner may also be announced on the Home of Lights Instagram account.
The winner must respond within seven days of being contacted to claim the prize.
If the winner does not respond within this period, is ineligible or cannot accept the prize, the Promoter may award the prize to the next highest-ranked eligible entry.
Important: Home of Lights will never request payment or credit card details to claim the prize.
All entries must be original and created by the entrant.
Entries must not contain material that is offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, unlawful or otherwise inappropriate.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these Terms and Conditions, including entries involving fraudulent activity or automated submissions.
Entrants should avoid disclosing sensitive personal information in their public comments.
By entering, participants confirm that their submission does not infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any third party.
By entering, participants grant Home of Lights a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce and share their competition entry on Home of Lights' website and social media channels for purposes directly related to administering, announcing and promoting this competition, with attribution to their Instagram username where appropriate.
Ownership of each entry remains with the entrant.
Any use of an entry for unrelated future advertising or marketing will require separate permission from the entrant.
The Promoter may collect the winner's name, contact details and delivery address for the purpose of verifying eligibility, administering the competition and delivering the prize.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws and the Home of Lights Privacy Policy.
Personal information collected for the competition will not automatically be used for marketing communications without any consent required by law.

By entering, participants acknowledge that they are providing their information to Home of Lights and not to Instagram.
